Ak47 Dust Cover Won't Stay On. for the life of me, i have taken apart and put back together this ak with no issues, and now, the dust cover won't go. stop slapping that dust cover, i know y’all have knocked it off a few times trying to do this 😂 I've done a little sanding. push the cover into the slot on the rear sight base. Lower the cover onto the recoil spring button. I can't get the dang dust cover to stay on. the top cover was trying to get away from your buttstock. everything's functioning fine with one exception: check out this awesome little ak hack i picked up from a friend out west years ago! Instead of sliding the recoil spring. there's actually a trick for getting an extremely tight dust cover in its place. The easy fix it to get a nice, original wood stock, or perhaps. Dust covers can be a pain!. your recoil spring button thingy is probably resting on a false (lower) shelf/edge on the rear trunnion and not.
